Ryan Bang Success Story
“I Lilly Lilly Like It!” There are the words popularized by the comedian Ryan Bang. He is a comedian, actor, artist and dancer here in the Philippines. Bang Hyun Sung, more popularly known as Ryan Bang in the Philippines, is a 20 year-old guy from South Korea. He was born in June 16, 1991 in Seoul but his family moved to the Philippines about 5 years ago. He cannot speak straight Tagalog but he always tries his best to learn and speak the language in the Philippines.
Ryan became popular after he joined the reality TV show Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash of 2010 which hosted participants from the Philippines and half-bloods. He won the 2nd place and thereafter continued his career in showbiz as a host and TV personality. He is hosting shows such as 30w POwhz and sometimes appears on other shows on ABS-CBN and Studio 23 such as Banana Split and Showtime.
Ryan is an only child. His father is a government official while his mother takes care of their home. He loves sports such as soccer and billiards. Being a South Korean, he felt most comfortable in attending an international school in the Philippines, Reedley High School. There he gained a lot of friends not only because he is very kind but also because of his great sense of humor.
Although Ryan is often seen as a comedian making funny things often, he is indeed very intelligent and has great leadership skills. He was a former Class President in his high school and later on became the head of the Student Council as well. At school, he spearheaded several events and outreach programs which include Jollibee’s MaagaangPasko and Ondoy Relief Drive, as well as Youth Lens Program and Reedley Talent Show respectively.
Ryan is a very sweet and romantic guy. According to him, the most romantic thing he had ever done is to shout “I love you!” in front of the Pasig River in order to win the heart of his girlfriend back then. He is also very sweet to his parents given that he is an only son.
One of the shows where Ryan became really popular aside from Pinoy Big Brother is Showtime. He has been in ShowTime for almost 48 weeks until recently he was evicted as a “hurado”. Nonetheless, this shows how much the people love Ryan because he still holds the longest running “hurado” record in the said show. During his eviction day, it became very emotional in the set and one of the judges actually offered her seat for Ryan to stay in the show. However, the ShowTime management still holds the final decision and in the end, they decided that Ryan Bang cannot be in the show anymore.
Ryan Bang has impacted the lives of a lot of people and he continues to bring smiles to the Filipinos.
